Did you hear about the little mouse that said to his mom when he saw a bat, “Look Mom, an angel!”
Speaking of angels, in our Wednesday night study of the book of Hebrews, in chapter one, we find that Christ is superior to angels. “After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.” Hebrews 1:3-4
As Christians, we find a reality and a warning about angels.
The reality is found in Hebrews 1:14 “Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?”
The warning is in Colossians 2:18 “Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind.”
The Apostle Paul warns against any message that is contrary to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is why this brother in Christ sticks with the Good News of His Amazing Grace!
Amazing grace how sweet, Christ our Lord, became a man (incarnation) for the purpose of taking way the sin of the world (John 1:29) and in place of our sins and iniquities, He gave us His righteousness as a gift (Romans 5:17) to redeem us, to embrace us as His sons and daughters (2 Corinthians 6:18). And to put the icing on the cake, He is risen at the right of the Majesty on high, interceding for us along with unseen angels to serve us who are to inherit eternal salvation!
And that’s the Gospel and faith I believe.
